This week in Maths we have been investigating 2D shapes and their properties. This also linked to our Forest School session, as we were hunting for 2D shapes in our environment. The children are becoming confident in identifying the number of sides and corners each 2D shape has, and can recognise these shapes around them. Ask the children what shapes they notice in and around your home. Can they name the shape and tell you how many sides and corners it has? Can they tell you what is the same and what is different about a rectangle and a square?
